Research Paper Directions
Tuesday's Assignments: Go to LIFE SCIENCE and read, click, and watch everything under animal classification. Prepare to research a particular class of animal. (Mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, or fish) Choose a class of animal and begin searching videos of that specific class to watch. You need to be sure it is a class that interests you. If you start watching videos and feel you need to change your mind, you can. Each person needs to email me on Schoology with the class of animal they have chosen.
Wednesday: Begin prewriting for your animal classification research paper. Using the method that you like best, (web, list, flowchart, outline, etc.) you should identify at least three major topics that you will research about your animal classification. Remember each body paragraph should have a theme or main idea and that all the facts within this paragraph should support that specific main idea. There will also be an introduction paragraph as well as a closing. The introduction will consist of general information about the class chosen and what the requirements are to be considered an animal in this class.
Afterwards, start researching your chosen animal class. You should take notes in your STEM journals regarding facts that you would like to incorporate into your paper. These should be organized in such a way that you will know which paragraph you will be using the information for when writing begins. This is NOT the paper. It is just prewriting and note taking. Please remember this. This should be completed today and tomorrow.
